Imerys British Lithium proudly collected the Franco British Trade and Investment Award 2023 for Franco-British Partnerships, in recognition of the joint venture formation between Imerys and British Lithium, as a pivotal partnership for securing future domestic supplies of battery-grade lithium both in the UK and France.
Beyond acknowledging the business acumen of Imerys British Lithium, the award also signifies the unwavering support from both the UK and French governments, as well as local constituencies. At present, Europe lacks domestic production of battery-grade lithium and this collaborative effort aims to nurture European economic independence and sovereignty, particularly in critical raw materials such as lithium, by establishing an integrated lithium supply chain.
The award application underwent meticulous scrutiny by the Franco-British Chamber and the British Embassy in Paris. A distinguished panel made the decision, chaired by Her Excellency Menna Rawlings, UK Ambassador to France, along with Françoise Rausch, the President of the Franco-British Chamber, and Jo Hawley, the Country Director of the Commercial Section of the British Embassy in Paris.
The event also featured a special message from ParalympicsGB CEO David Clarke OBE. The presence of esteemed guests, sponsors, and partners, including BDO France, JLR Land Rover France, Eurostar, and Portland, further highlighted the significance of the Franco-British Trade & Investment Awards.
